What type of jewellery should I wear with my wedding dress?

Bridal jewellery – by Princesse d’un Jour

When you get married, it's a bit of a discovery. The dress is familiar, as are the shoes, but what should the jewellery look like? Will a classic piece of costume jewellery do? Is a precious piece of jewellery absolutely essential, like a chain with a pendant? So many questions that need answering. Here are a few tips to get you on the right track:

Bridal jewellery - making the right choice

A wedding dress is not an everyday item of clothing. It's ultra-feminine, romantic and you'll only wear it once. So your bridal jewellery has to match the occasion. There's no need to look in your drawers to see if you can find a piece of white jewellery or a chain that will do the trick. Most of the costume jewellery we wear every day is often mounted on a metal base, which gives it a modern, fashionable look. But our bridal look isn't particularly modern and fashionable. We don't go out in leggings, leather boots and a slim-fitting jacket. No more of that! LOL

Our second idea was to wear this fine little chain with a diamond pendant that our loved one had given us for Valentine's Day. It's possible, of course, but given the extreme delicacy of this type of jewellery, it's sure to go unnoticed. And then, which bracelet should you match it with and which hair accessories?

So we leave it to the sales assistant in the wedding dress shop to suggest THE perfect necklace... an arrangement of grey wires with a few crystals scattered around. Rest assured, this is not the only type of wedding jewellery.

Designer wedding jewellery

There are others, jewellery created and designed especially for brides, by small French designers who offer handmade (in France) and above all creative jewellery.

At Princesse d'un Jour, you'll find jewellery that's perfectly suited to the bride, thanks to the materials used and the delicate, romantic designs. Seed beads, mother-of-pearl pearls and Swarovski crystal stones are combined to perfection to create complete sets including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, hairpins, tiaras and combs, all perfectly matched to create a harmonious ensemble.
